Photo: Instagram) Yesterday news broke that countless Nollywood stars were stranded in Port Elizabeth, South Africa after the 11th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA 2015). The reports blamed the organizers of the award ceremony for lackluster planning. NET however reached out to a Movie Producer who is part of the ‘Stranded’ Nollywood stars in South Africa and he spoke to us on condition of anonymity saying, ‘I think the whole story was blown out of proportion, It’s just flight and weather issues not like we are stranded as it sounds’. He further confirmed to NET that, ‘some of us are back in Nigeria already and the rest just got to Johannesburg now, we’ll be flying back to Nigeria tonight’. Nollywood actor and Filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan also corroborated this story a few hours ago when he shared the photo above showing him at the airport with Racheal Oniga, Odunlade Adekola and Demola Adedoyin as he captioned it, ‘Port Elizabeth connecting Joburg. Beautiful city. I shall be back’....
